"Zeichnungen im Eimer"
In a series on the Dalai Lama the graphics have been placed at the bottom of a funnel-like plastic container. The translucent plastic material in yellow, green, pink, and light, but yet intensive colors, lend the drawing not only a special attentiveness, but also – depending on how the light falls –a uniform nuance of color. Karin Angele is concerned with a very personal portrayal of the underlying political conditions in connection with the expulsion and flight of this head of the Tibetan Buddhists. The basis for this was pictorial portrayals from the media and the related question as to how publications influence the perception of persons, events, and even notions of belief.
